Indian River Institute for the Creative Arts
Indian River Institute of the Creative Arts (IRICA), under the direction of Mr. Dick Cuchetti was formed to provide financial assistance to locally gifted and talented music students. IRICA provides the opportunity for extensive education in a wide range of artistic areas. Many musical instrument & vocal students are members of All State and All County Concert Bands and Chorus'.
The IRICA chorus, musical theater and graphic art students are well respected in the area. Many IRICA students are accepted annually into music and arts college programs.
The non-profit IRICA was formed, in Mr Cuchetti’s words, to "make Musical Dreams come true and Illuminate the Creative Spirit. As long as IRICA is operational and funded, we will continue making a difference in the lives of our students.
Expectations for IRICA Recipients
Scholarships are provided by sponsors enabling extensive training in a nurturing environment for qualified individuals. We are confident this knowledge will remain with them through-out their life time. To those who much is given, much is expected.
With this goal in mind, we propose the following guidelines for our students:
PRACTICE TIME
Students should practice a minimum of five days a week with a time frame equal to that of their lesson.
60 MINUTE LESSON: 60 minutes five days a week.
45 MINUTE LESSON: 45 minutes five days a week.
30 MINUTE LESSON: 30 minutes five days a week
We stress that we view this as a minimum commitment. The progress and development of the student’s talent will correspond to their practice time.
Currently, we offer full, half and partial scholarships. At the end of each semester all students will be evaluated by the faculty. Students who are meeting their goals will be renewed. Partial and half scholarship students may request additional funds if their performance warrants.
IRICA Accomplishments
The Indian River Institute for the Creative Arts (IRICA) provides financial assistance to gifted and talented individuals regardless of age, ethnicity, religion, gender, economic background, or physical abilities by means of scholarships acquired through fundraising.
This allows us to identify these gifted individuals in our community, and to have the funds to pay for their education with top level teachers, to give them the opportunity to develop their talents and hone their skills. These talents and skills can very well help them attend schools of higher learning with scholarships or partial financial aid as well as working as professional musicians, performers or teachers.
